Robert
Dale Owen, the son of British social reformer Robert Owen,
with his younger brother William and his father founded the colony
of New Harmony, Indiana, a Co-operative cotton town. Robert senior
soon returned to Britain and the colony failed. Robert junior
became a Democrat politician and prominent anti-slavery politician
in America. This MS is from New Harmony, but its link with Robert
Dale Owen is unknown. It contains many fine tunes.
