Frank Kidson was a Leeds based collector and antiquarian who
lived from 1855 to 1926. He was a contemporary of Cecil Sharp and
a collaborator with Anne Geddes Gilchrist, both influential in the
folk music collecting world.
This book of hornpipes, selected from various fiddlers tune books
in his possession, was written down by Kidson in an empty music
manuscript book which bore the name Huddeswell. It is to be found
in the Kidson Collection housed at the Mitchell Library in
Glasgow.
